13th Annual Kalamazoo Russian Festival

When: Saturday, November 8, 2008 10:00am to 4:00pm
Where: Fetzer Center, Kalamazoo, MI
Description: Familiar features will be joined by some new activities and a variety of interesting lectures. The Gala Concert performers will display their talent. Members of the WMU faculty will read several lectures about Russian arts and culture. Mrs. Leslie Katzs 11th grade English class from Marshall Academy will perform Vasilisa, Baba Yaga, and the Golden Thread an original Russian folktale in dramatic form by Judith Rypma. Merchants will offer fine art, imported hand-crafts, books, and films. The WMU catering department will tempt appetites with Russian cuisine. For children, Clash the Clown will paint faces and adoptive families will do crafts.
